NBA Players Of The Month Of March

The Charlotte Bobcats Al Jefferson and Oklahoma City Thunders Kevin Durant were named Kia NBA players of the month of March.


Al Jefferson of the Eastern Conference is ranked fifth in the NBA in scoring with 24.7 points per game and ninth in rebounding 10.6 per game, while shooting at 55% from the field. He has pushed the Bobcats into the playoff race with three 30 point games this year and hit a season total of 22 games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Al is also only the second player this year to make at least 15 field goals in a game and shooting at 64% from the field in two consecutive games.


Kevin Durant of the Western Conference is currently leads the NBA in scoring at 34.5 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game and 5.9 assists. Durant is the first player to average at least 33.0 points per game over three consecutive months since the great Michael Jordan during the 1989-1990 NBA season. Durant has had 38 straight games of 25 points or more, just two games shy of Michael Jordans record of 40 straight games. He has scored 30 or more points nine times last month, topped the 40 point threshold four times and hit a season high 51 points, 12 rebound and 7 assists on March 21 against the Toronto Raptors. Kevin Durant has earned player of the month honors four times in five months this season

Other nominees for Kia NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Month were Houston's James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin, Miami's LeBron James, New York's Carmelo Anthony, Phoenix's Goran Dragic and San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard.
