Is Joel Embiid really ready for the NBA? with the 20 year old sidelined with injuries for the rest of his college career with a stress fracture in his back. With many teams out there in the NBA looking for a great center to hold down there teams defence and be a strong offensive presence. With Joel Embiid showing he can do both things with success should put him in high demand. The Boston Celtics needing a big time center could try to pick him up if the draft lottery is in their favor this offseason.
The star 7-footer is projected for a top 3 pick in this years upcoming draft. Embiid averaged 11.2 points per game, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in just 23 minutes per game this season for the Jayhawks.

"His offensive skill set seems to grow by the game," said Mannix. "He can score with a hook with either hand and defensively he is an imposing presence. The brief February blip aside, it's scary how quickly Embiid is developing."

According to Yahoo, a formal announcement from Embiid is expected soon and with that he will also be picking an agent. Embiid becomes the latest notable underclassmen to join the 2014 NBA draft class.
Indiana's Noah Vonleh and
North Carolina State's T.J. Warren are also leaving college basketball for the pros after just one year.
