New Star Wars Movie Set For Production

J.J. Abrams upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII has been given a start date and a timeline in place. Disney and Lucasfilm announced on Tuesday March 18, 2014 that the New Star Wars movie, the first of a new trilogy begins filming in may at London's Pinewood Studios.

Episode VII, which is currently set to open in theaters December 18, 2015, is set 30 years after Return of the Jedi. The new film will also feature a trio of new leads. The classic Star Wars actors Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher have been rumored to have roles in the new film.

Whispers around hollywood point at some potential actors in the film, people like Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons, and recent Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o have met with Abrams or are in talks to play roles in the film.

What We Know
  • One Character is confirmed, R2-D2. 
  • John Williams will be back and score the new film.
  • Girls star Adam Driver is in final negotiations to play the main villain, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor has also appeared in films like Lincoln and Llewyn Davis. 
  • There will be two other new leads, one "a street smart and strong" orphan girl in her late teens and a "smart capable" man in his late teens early 20's.
